Bringing Relief to a Community in Pain: Back on Trac Therapy

By: Jaime Hopoi PT, DPT

We see first-hand how back and neck pain can keep people from living the life they want—and the truth is, it’s not just a personal problem. It’s a community-wide issue.

The World Health Organization reports that low back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide, affecting over 619 million people in 2020—a number expected to climb to 843 million by 2050. Neck pain is also widespread, impacting about 223 million people globally. Here in the U.S., about 1 in 4 adults experiences low back pain and 15% experience neck pain in a single year.

These numbers mean that if you haven’t personally dealt with spine-related pain, you are probably someone who has—and it affects work, family life, and ability to stay active.

A NEW TOOL IN OUR FIGHT AGAINST PAIN

To better serve our patients and community, we’re excited to introduce our state-of-the-art back and traction system. This advanced technology uses gentle, precise stretching to decompress the spine, reducing pressure on irritated nerves, increasing mobility, and helping the body heal naturally.

WHY TRACTION THERAPY WORKS

When the spine is compressed—whether from injury, posture, or wear and tear—it can trigger constant pain signals and limit movement. Traction therapy addresses the root cause by creating space between vertebrae, easing nerve pressure, improving blood flow, and relaxing surrounding muscles.

WHO CAN IT HELP?

  • Our traction system may benefit people with:
  • Herniated or bulging discs
  • Sciatica and nerve-related pain
  • Chronic low back or neck pain
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Joint stiffness from arthritis
  • Postural strain from work or daily activities
  • Whiplash associated disorders

PERSONALIZED COMFORT AND SAFETY

Unlike older equipment, this new system allows us to tailor every aspect of your treatment—from the ankle to the amount of force—so each session is effective and comfortable. The chair set up and design of this equipment allows it to be accessible for people who have difficulty with functional mobility, are in wheelchair, or who are in too much pain to use traditional mechanical traction.

OUR MISSION

The Kalispel tribe has invested in this technology because we believe our community deserves access to the best, evidence-based treatments available. Our goal is simple: to help you live with less pain and more freedom to do the things you love.

BACK-ON-TRAC offers a non-invasive alternative that focuses on the root cause: spinal compression and misalignment. The treatment begins in a seated position and gently transitions to a reclined stretch.
